Employer Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there a fee for posting job announcements with your office?

No, our service is free to both employers and Colorado State University students.

2. What is your on-call service?

Students sign up at our office to be called on short notice for temporary short term employment. Employers may contact us to obtain names of students who are interested in working. The categories of employment are general labor, child care, cleaning, and clerical.

3. Why was my work-study student's allocation changed?

When a student's eligibility for financial aid changes, it may be necessary to change the amount of the work-study award. It is very important to check the work-study earnings report every pay period which will indicate if the work-study allocation has changed.

4. How much of the student's work-study salary do employers pay?

Employers are required to pay 30% of the student's gross earnings. 70% is paid from the work-study fund.

5. May students work concurrently in more than one on campus assignment?

Yes, with one exception. Students may have only one work-study assignment at any time.
